Donna is pleased to have been instrumental in building Planned Parenthood Waterloo Region, a small, well-established charity in Kitchener, Ontario from $90,000 to $230,000 per year in fundraising income, while securing three large gifts to start a $350,000 endowment fund. In Victoria, she has enjoyed several challenges --joining a very young charitable organization, The Prostate Centre, as their first fundraiser, where she helped secure and then matched their $42,100 challenge grant from the Victoria Foundation, all the while building their profile and their donor base; and spending a year as Director of Development of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, as a maternity leave replacement, to increase their individual giving, give birth to their major and planned giving program, and secure a $57,000 capital grant from the British Columbia Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch, to make possible some essential renovations and aid in continuing programming.
Currently, Donna is working with three Victoria organizations --the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation, the Victoria READ Society, and the Dogwood Initiative --as Grants Manager, Fund Development Manager, and Capacity Consultant, respectively.
